Description

Position Summary:

As a Restaurant Food Expediter at Edgewood Tahoe, you ensure that all kitchen orders are prepared in a timely manner and according to menu and guest specifications. You may also finalize the presentation of the plate and test the temperature of the food. As you keep orders flowing from the kitchen to the diners, you direct kitchen runners and wait staff who are delivering completed orders. Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate communication of orders and food delivery between culinary team and front of house team.
  • Check dishes before delivery for accuracy, presentation and temperature.
  • Maintain composure in a loud, hot environment when calling out orders needed to the kitchen.
  • Ensure the efficient flow of orders from the waiters to the kitchen.
  • Ensure orders are being prepared with the correct priority.
  • Assist in the final preparation of dishes. Embrace special requests.
  • Understanding of health and safety rules in a restaurant.
  • Communicate effectively to resolve in guest recovery opportunities.
  • Support other tasks as needed (e.g. Room Service Orders)

Position Requirements

Qualifications / Special Skills:

  • Proven experience as food expeditor or other restaurant position preferred.
  • Guest service background preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills needed.
  • Must possess very strong organizational skills and be able to lead people.
  • A customer-oriented approach.
  • Available to work varied shifts when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
