Description

DESCRIPTION:

The Resident Services Manager is responsible for monitoring, assessing and developing strategies to provide for the physical, psychological, and social needs of the Independent Living residents. The Resident Services Manager is accountable for creating and sustaining an open and trusting environment that motivates residents to make healthy adjustments to living at Miralea Active Lifestyle Community through their participation in activities and social events. The staff member will work with residents, family members and internal staff to address existing, and future needs of the residents.The Resident Services Manager reports to the Executive Director.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assesses and monitors independent living residents’ general health and welfare to ensure that any community or personal issues which may be limiting or interfering with the residents’ ability to socialize, maintain their independence and/or participate in community life and activities identified.
  • Works closely and collaboratively with the resident, family/responsible party and appropriate internal staff to assist the resident /family whenever a transition to higher level of care is warranted.
  • Serves as a resource to resident, family/responsible party and appropriate internal staff regarding current or anticipated social, emotional, psychological, and/or health status needs of residents.
  • Establishes and maintains comprehensive written records of significant assessment, monitoring, or service request actions taken in support of residents.
  • Communicates in a timely basis with the resident, family/responsible party and appropriate internal staff on changes in social, emotional, psychological, or overall health status of individual residents. Proposes strategies and actions to address those situations.
  • Oversees the Level of Care Committee for independent Living. Prepares the agenda and maintains records of meetings and actions recommended/taken.
  • Maintains frequent and regular contact with residents providing them opportunities to discuss their current situation and issues. Takes effective action to resolve any immediate concerns as able or to communicate to the appropriate staff member who can provide a solution.
  • Assists in administering Breezie tablets to new Miralea and Life Plan Residents.
  • Actively administers and maintains the Resident Information Guide, while ensuring residents adhere to the outlined contents.
  • Responds to Silversphere alert alarms originating from Independent Living residents to ensure resident safety. Will carry a two-way radio while in the community.
  • Member of the Miralea Management team and attends weekly meetings as required or assigned.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned or required.

This individual may be required to work overtime, different shifts or hours outside the normally defined workday or workweek.

Educational Requirements and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in health profession, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of two years of experience with senior living or seniors a plus
  • Valid Driver’s License

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate ability in problem solving
  • Strong customer service/hospitality
  • Able to work within a team focused environment
  • Commitment to excellence and achieving high quality results are necessary
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Environmental Adaptability:

  • Works primarily indoors in a climate controlled setting
  • Possible exposure to unpleasant odors
  • Possible exposure to chemicals as identified in the MSDS Manual
  • Possible exposure to residents who are ill, confused, irritable and irrational, including expired
