What You Would Be Doing

The Lead Therapist works in a school-based program providing and overseeing behavioral health services to students. This position is responsible for providing outpatient behavioral health services, including assessment, therapy, and case management services to children, adolescents, and their families. Services may be provided on an individual, group, or family basis in the office, via telehealth, or other settings within the community. This clinician is also responsible for providing administrative and clinical supervision to unlicensed staff providing clinical services, and administrative supervision to licensed clinicians.

The clinician reports to the Administrator of Behavioral Health and is responsible for ensuring that the emotional and social needs of the clients are met and maintained on an individualized basis in accordance with policies and procedures, and current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.

 
Position Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in social work or related field.
  • Licensed through the State of Ohio as a LISW/LPCC/LISW-S/LPCC-S.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • One to two (1-2) years of behavioral health or social work experience working directly with children, adolescents, and families.
  • Experience working with people with autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities.
  • Experience working with people with mental health conditions

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must be able to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and support agencies.
  • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, emotionally upset, and at times hostile clients/family members.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Transports clients as needed; operates own vehicle.
  • Required valid Ohio Driver’s License with Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles; proof of auto insurance; insurable driving record - fewer than five points.
