Tax Department Coordinator 


Position Summary:

Performs administrative and paraprofessional work for the Tax Department and the Head of Tax.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop department processes and training for new tax software products, including admin-specific training.
  • Provide Tax IT support to tax staff and admins.
  • Manage electronic tax filings.
  • Run weekly and monthly reports for staff and Directors.
  • Coordinate tax department meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain tax CPE records and licenses.
  • Assist with client creation, organizer and return deliver, correspondence assembly and billing prep for tax directors.
  • Composes routine correspondence to clients and staff.
  • Prepares monthly billing invoices and account statements for Head of Tax.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an administrative assistant/office manager.
  • CPA firm experience strongly preferred



  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism.
  • Proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping and making journal entries using QuickBooks software and Excel worksheets
  • Knowledge of tax return assembly and filing
  • Experience preparing individual or sales tax returns a plus.
  • Ability to perform clerical duties with speed and accuracy without immediate and constant supervision.
  • Good personal and people skills..
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and analyze problems logically and comprehensively. Distinguishes between relevant and irrelevant information.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Ability to handle sensitive/confidential matters in a tactful and discreet manner.
  • Ability to interface with a variety of management levels.
