Description

The Desktop Engineer - Intern provides support to the Corporate Technology team and all Ascentis employees throughout multiple locations. Within this role you will assist with auditing laptops, servers, and the networking infrastructure. In this role you will be prepping new and returned laptops for either future use or donations. In this role you will assist employees with resetting their passwords, adding a printer(s), and assisting with troubleshooting basic connectivity issues. You will work directly with Dell to get laptops replaced, fixed, and order replacement parts such as batteries. What are the general responsibilities of the position?

Ascentis is a growing company, so there is never a dull day in the life of our technology teams. The position will also give you the opportunity to take on more responsibility and learn new skill sets as you are capable. Each day you will be focused on:

  • Audit all laptops, servers, and networking infrastructure.
  • Assist with labeling and updating networking gear.
  • Providing helpdesk support for all company users via the Atlassian Service Desk (JIRA) ticketing system
  • Proactively reach out to employees on a cadence to notify them the status of their tickets, particularly when they are going to take some time to resolve
  • Build and inventory laptops as well as other end user facing equipment
  • Build laptops using the standard image using Intune with Auto-Pilot
 
Position Requirements
  • Hardware experience (Laptops). Other computer hardware experience a plus.
  • Familiar with using the Microsoft Suite – Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint
  • Windows 10 knowledge, MacOS knowledge
  • Service oriented with desire to exceed expectations
  • Ability to grasp new concepts rapidly
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team oriented
  • Able to multi-task, work independently and meet deadlines.
