About Astronics AeroSat

Astronics AeroSat Corporation recently relocated to Manchester, New Hampshire doubling the size of our building in order to support our projected growth. We design and manufacture tail-mounted and fuselage-mounted aircraft SATCOM systems to provide inflight internet and live TV connectivity for commercial and business aviation, VVIP, and military aircraft around the world.

 

Primary Function:

To ensure compliance with both Company, EH & S and Federal Requirements. To serve as main interface with appropriate regulatory bodies. Including FAA MIDO, FSDO, and ODAs.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage Quality Assurance personnel and processes
  • Manage Configuration Management personnel and processes
  • Manage and develop ISO9001/AS9100 Quality Management System, including internal audits, customer audits and 3rd party audits
  • Review customer RFQ/RFP/Contracts and provide input to management
  • Manage supplier qualification and ongoing oversight
  • Maintain corporate KPIs
  • Manage corrective and preventive action system
  • Interface with customers to ensure capability to meet unique business requirements
  • Perform design drawing and production process reviews
  • Support New Product Introduction activities and support stage gate reviews
  • Develop personnel within their respective roles
  • Identify business risks and mitigations
  • Interface with Astronics Corporate Quality Management Team on business initiatives

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversees FAA/EASA Repair Station activities, including personnel and processes
  • Manage Quality Assurance personnel and processes
  • Manage Configuration Management personnel and processes
 
Position Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus minimum 5 years related experience
  • Minimum 5 years management experience
  • Strong organizational skills.

 

Preferred

  • Experience in Aerospace and/or Defense industries and associated quality requirements, including CFR Part 21, CFR Part 145 and AS9100
  • Experience with Product Development and Manufacturing Processes, Lean, 5S, Six Sigma and supplier control
  • Development and Engineering change management
  • Intuitive ERP experience
  • Unipoint or similar module experience

 

Safety Requirements:

  • Must follow all safety requirements of the job as outlined in the safety policy
  • May be required to handle hazardous waste and follow proper safety procedure for storage and disposal

 

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and or arms to pull handles and push buttons and reach objects. Requirements may also include climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching or crawling. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
