Your role in helping us shape the future:

U.S. News empowers everyone to thrive. The General Manager of Autos will lead U.S. News & World Report’s digital automotive vertical, supported by a direct team of over 30 people and others across the company. The GM will drive the team’s revenue growth and oversee the P&L, strategy and partnerships.

Are you up to the challenge?

The GM of Autos will oversee:

  • Revenue Growth Strategy: Develop the growth and operating strategies for the Autos website and will help the teams execute against them. He or she will oversee key revenue-driving partnerships and look for new opportunities to expand our franchises and revenue. The GM will examine broader trends in the automotive industry and online landscape (e.g., Google) and work with the team to develop business opportunities based on those trends.
  • Business Development: Lead the business development strategy, negotiations and delivering results from our partnerships. The digital automotive category continues to evolve with new business models and industry players. This creates opportunities for us and we need to be forward-thinking and nimble in how we work with partners.
  • Product Development & Optimization: Work with the Autos product teams as well as Technology, UX and Content to create exceptional user experiences and optimize for digital revenue opportunities. Important audience KPIs for our automotive consumer products include website visits, engagement, repeat visitation and user satisfaction. Important revenue KPIs include ARPU and, where applicable, impressions / viewability for advertising campaigns, as well as conversion rates for lead generation.
  • Content Strategy: The goal of the U.S. News automotive website is to provide consumers with objective guidance they can trust in a decision process that’s often confusing and stressful. The GM will work with the Automotive Editorial team to focus on creating ratings, rankings, recommendations and advice that (a) helps consumers feel confident in their decisions, (b) aligns with our brand and (c) aligns with our business priorities.
  • Team: Hiring and retaining top talent is a critical business objective for the Automotive team, just as it is across the organization. The GM will assess the team needs and structure and determine how to best attract and organize the right people to help execute against our strategy.
