Description

The Associate, Contractor Referral supports the implementation of Elevate' s programs and services for multifamily housing and nonprofit organizations by working with contractors to complete energy efficiency retrofits. The Associate applies relationship management and customer service skills to support contractors and customers through the process of implementing energy efficiency upgrades.

The Associate, Contractor Referral reports to the Associate Director, Technical and Construction Services and collaborates with other teams in a lead or support role. This position is located in Chicago, Illinois and is currently virtual.

 
Position Requirements
  • Manage the process workflow of energy efficiency projects that come to Elevate through contractor referrals.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for contractors and customers to bring an energy efficiency project from referral to installation.
  • Ensure the Elevate program teams have all the documentation needed to process the project, and follow up with the contractor or customer when documentation is incomplete.
  • Build relationships with contractors and communicate instructions, project updates, and guidance on the contractor referral process.
  • Provide detailed guidance or training as needed, working closely with the Construction team when providing guidance and training.
  • Monitor the contractor referral inbox for new referrals and other documentation submissions, process documents accordingly, and ensure turnaround timelines are met.
  • Verify customer eligibility and verify that projects meet required technical specifications.
  • Utilize Salesforce reports to manage and track projects.
  • Review project scopes to create measures associated with the scope of work in Salesforce.
  • Conduct data cleanup in Salesforce to ensure the automated intake form is working correctly and that Elevate’s team is receiving all the correct reporting fields.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in energy and/or environmental sciences, engineering, nonprofit administration, or related field
  • Two to four years of experience in nonprofit, multifamily, utility, or other related work
  • Understanding of technical specifications and requirements, and ability to apply this understanding to energy efficiency programs
  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as customer relationship management skills
  • Excellent ability to work with contractors and follow up when needed, with both internal or external stakeholders, to move a project to the pre-approval stages
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and project coordination skills
  • Excellent data management skills and ability to clearly and accurately document information
  • Basic understanding of commercial building energy systems and technologies
  • Additional education or experience in the energy, multifamily, or nonprofit field a plus
  • Experience with Salesforce or equivalent CRM program preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team setting
  • A demonstrated attention to detail
