The individual in this role will serve as a senior representative, responsible for cross training and mentoring others in department. They will lead designated recruiting and staffing projects and assists manager with all recruiting efforts, ensuring excellent candidate experience through full cycle recruiting process.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Will assist manager in developing, reviewing and administering recruiting programs and strategies to attract the best qualified candidates
  • Sources high quality candidates for Investment Representative, licensed/non licensed sales associates, home office staff positions through outbound calls, social media and other methods to source passive candidates
  • Regularly reviews recruiting solutions including purchasing recruiting lists, online application/packages, LinkedIn,, and/or other sourcing opportunities. Makes recommendations to enhance sourcing.
  • Strategically reviews all recruiting advertisements and ensures consistency in messaging is in place across all positions
  • Ensures recruiting practices are in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Works closely with Advisor Development Managers and Program Development Managers on all aspects of open position(s); leads regular recruiting calls or training with assigned Managers
  • Ensures candidate pre-screen notes are complete and in good order in the system prior to running pre-hire paperwork.
  • Perform periodic audits of candidates in database as a cross-check for accuracy amongst team.
  • Reviews all background reports, matches employment with application form and against what is reported in the phone screen ensuring all documentation is accurate. Understands applicable state and/or federal credit requirements, registration/compliance reporting requirements and assists other recruiting team members in determining when it is appropriate to elevate concerns to Compliance or HR management team
  • Ensures candidate pre-hire paperwork is completed and all background checks are reviewed and approved prior to hiring manager offering a position. Takes leadership role in helping other team members review credit and other background review requirements
  • Closes out requisitions by sending letters of declination; ensuring all notes system prior to offer being extended
  • Mentors and provides guidance to rest of department in meeting individual goals and department goals
  • Mentors other recruiting team members in understanding what drives a financial advisor’s success and assists with training on how Rep compensation works
  • Drives recruiting and staffing projects to ensure recruiting efforts are in line with corporate goals and initiatives
  • Partners with other recruiting team members to ensure all open positions are successfully filled in timely manner
  • Sets and keeps consistent office hours in the home office

Position Requirements

Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) or equivalent from four-year college in a business discipline or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive recruiting experience to include previous financial advisor recruiting.
  • Previous job experience working directly with a financial advisor preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial advisor compensation grids and understanding of financial products needed.
  • Strong organization skills and customer service skills required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to perform comfortably in a deadline-oriented work environment.
  • Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously and deliver results.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of team.
