SUMMARY: Open Door Community Health Centers (ODCHC) invests in their growing workforce by offering robust training and development opportunities. The Learning and Development (L&D) Specialist will assign, monitor, and develop reports for training and development programs for all ODCHC staff, leadership, and providers. ODCHC utilizes the learning platform SABA to manage annual compliance training, performance reviews and 360 reviews, and offer additional individualized job development trainings. Trainings must be developed and presented in a variety of modalities including but not limited to; in person, web basted, self-directed, and hybrid. The Learning and Development Specialist will work closely with the Workforce Development Team to identify training needs and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations. This position requires the ability to prioritize tasks and compile complex materials into a cohesive reports. The ideal employee would be self-motivated, able to work independently with little supervision, and have a working knowledge of learning software (Articulate & SABA platform knowledge preferred).

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assesses training and development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with managers, instructors, and key stakeholders.
  • Works with the Director of Workforce Development and Human Resources to present training and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussion, lunch and learn, web based trainings, instructor led trainings, simulations, and videos.
  • Organizes, schedules, and monitors attendance for instructor-led trainings.
  • Coordinates logistics for instructor-led trainings; securing training room, preparing course materials, manager roster, set up equipment, order food, etc.
  • Monitors and tracks course attendance and completion within the LMS and follows up with appropriate parties to ensure completion of required courses.
  • Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements.
  • Assesses training materials prepared by subject matter experts.
  • Collaborates with Communications Department to develop and distribute communications to all ODCHC staff related to monthly training calendars.
  • Assists L&D Manager with LMS troubleshooting and providing technical support to staff as needed.
  • Administers and reports on post training evaluations through assessments, surveys, and participant feedback.
  • Partners with L&D Manager to create custom reports; provide reports to managers upon request and schedule recurring reports.
  • Provides L&D Manager with survey administration support as needed.
  • Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in learning and development.
  • Performs other duties as identified and assigned by supervisor.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
  • Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
  • Strong computer skills with specific aptitude in Microsoft Office Suite and other program software.
  • Ability to work effectively as a part of a team as well as autonomously while maintaining high-end results.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, supervisors, and others within ODCHC.
  • Ability and willingness to quickly learn new programs and technologies related to Learning and Development.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and objectivity.
  • Adheres to ODCHC’s policies and procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field preferred).
  • Two + years of experience working in an L&D function.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Software (SABA preferred).
  • Experience using course authoring tools (Articulate 360 preferred).

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

SUPERVISION AND SUPPORT: The Learning and Development Specialist reports directly to the Workforce Development Manager and is an integral part of the Learning and Development Team.
