Valley Community Services Board serves as the single point of entry into publicly funded mental health, developmental, and substance use disorder services for these localities.

Description

Valley Community Services Board is looking for compassionate and dedicated people to join our Direct Care Professional Team!  Team members work together to engage individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting. 

VCSB is currently looking for full-time and part-time staff willing to work all shifts.  The employee works as a team member in providing Person-Centered active treatment and care to adults with severe intellectual and physical challenges. This position is responsible for assuring individuals' needs are met, household safety and sanitation are maintained, and applicable standards and regulations are met.

Position Requirements

A combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. High school diploma or equivalent required. Within the first 12 months of employment, the agency pays for and requires the Direct Care Professional to satisfactorily complete a VA Board of Nursing approved Medication Aide training program and demonstrate medication administration and supervision of self-administration to the facility nurse in accordance with the prescriber’s instruction pertaining to dosage, frequency, and manner of administration, and in accordance with regulations promulgated by the Board of Pharmacy relating to security and record keeping, and in accordance with facility Medication Management Policy, upon completion of the training program and on an annual basis. The candidate must maintain a Virginia driver’s license in good standing.  Must work in a latex environment where reasonable accommodations are the issuance of latex-free gloves and the use of breathing barriers for CPR training. Must be able to assist with meal preparation, serving, and cleanup, including the use of various foods and spices (no accommodations available).

Must be able to work a flexible schedule including all shifts and all days of the week, weekends, holidays and inclement weather days.

10% above entry pay for working an all-weekend shift (F-M) or 3rd shift. 10% Increase in pay after completion of Medication Aide training.  9 Paid holidays and a generous PTO package.    This position qualifies for a $500 Sign-on bonus as well as a $700 monthly retention stipend.
