Share Email Opening Title Landscape Technician  Location City of Griffin   Description Maintains City rights-of-way using landscaping equipment. Duties include: Maintains rights-of-way; removes trash and debris; mows grass. Maintains landscaping on city grounds. Repairs excavation sites. Supervises the work of state inmates; transports inmates to and from work sites. Maintains and repairs assigned vehicles, tools and equipment. Purchases needed supplies and equipment. Completes required reports. Performs related duties.   Position Requirements Knowledge of landscape maintenance principles and practices. Knowledge of department policies and procedures. Knowledge of the policies and guidelines governing the supervising of inmate labor. Skill in the use of a variety of job-related equipment and tools. Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions. Skill in the installation, repair and maintenance of landscaping. Skill in the repair and maintenance of job-related tools and equipment. Skill in oral and written communication. High School diploma or GED. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with holding a similar position for one to two years. Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia. This position is required to supervise state inmate labor.
