Position Public Works Construction Specialist  


The Landings Association, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Construction Specialist in our Public Works department. This position reports to Construction, which is responsible for maintenance and repair of the bridges, paths and roadway at The Landings, as well as street sweeping and storm drain maintenance and repair. Maintenance levels provided are integral to our customers’ satisfaction as well as to maintaining property values, promoting home sales and supporting the marketing of the community.

Our Construction Specialists operate a variety of equipment and ensure that the infrastructure of The Landings is in good working order by doing both routine maintenance and responding to emergency situations. Specific responsibilities include

  • Lift truck operation to move debris and haul materials, as well as the use of other equipment (Backhoe, Jetter Truck, etc.) as needed.

  • Assisting the Construction Coordinator in scheduling routes to meet departmental objectives.

  • Maintaining Public Works equipment to keep it in good working order.

  • Conducting training for general laborers.

  • Ensuring that the highest quality maintenance and repairs are performed while meeting strict compliance and safety standards.

Position Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • The ability to operate heavy equipment with at least one year of applicable work experience,
  • A valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record according to TLA's insurance carrier.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.

In addition, we are looking for a strong team player with a demonstrated high degree of initiative in scheduling work and resolving routine matters. This position requires the ability to work after hours in emergency situations.
