ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supplier Quality Development and Supply Chain support
  • Support LSI Quality Objectives and Metrics
  • Help to improve the Quality System Databases (Filemaker & SQL applications)
  • Help develop and maintain SPC and other Process Control Programs
  • Support various LEAN and Synchronous Flow Process implementations
  • Lead the development of methods to improve yields and cycle times
  • Champion the QA/QC Continuous Improvement Team
  • Support various Testing, Verification, Gauging and Process Control initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will be able to display proficiency in the below tasks, as well as be expected to gain and excel in a variety of processes and procedures.

  • Ability to focus on the task at hand and pay attention to details
  • Understanding of Statistical Process Controls, SPC Techniques
  • Lighting, photometric's, gauging, mechanical and electronics testing familiarity is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively and professionally interact with others in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea
  • Understanding of calibration and associated tasks
  • Background check and pre-employment drug test required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Due to federal contract obligations, must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • BS degree with ASQ Certification preferred
  • Good overall computer skills, MS Office and e-mail programs
  • Proficiency with File Maker, Excel VBE, SQL Reporting and Mini Tab desired
  • Minimum 3 years quality engineering experience required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and have specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The noise level in a manufacturing environment can be elevated.

Astronics works a flexible 9/80 schedule (9 hour days Mon- Thurs, 8 hour day Friday #1 and Off Friday #2).
