Position Summary:

Reporting to the VP of Marketing, the Sales & Marketing Analyst is responsible for providing information and insights that facilitate key company decisions, helping to drive profitable growth and goal achievement.   The Sales & Marketing Analyst will support the annual sales planning process, working to create and disseminate annual budgets by time period and geography.  This position collaborates closely with all aspects of the organization, including Sales, Marketing and Finance, and requires excellent communication skills and a good commercial understanding of business issues.

Critical Tasks:

Marketing & Sales Planning, Forecasting, Goal Setting and Monitoring (30%)

Using and updating existing tools, in collaboration with Finance/Marketing/Sales, manage the development of the annual budget plan ( sales by Brand, expense budgeting), the development of the 3 year business plan at mid-year, the development of the year-end forecast in the Fall.

Reconcile year-end goals for sales team to evaluate bonus payouts.

Evaluate Marketing & Sales program results and ROI

Information management (20%)

Using the platforms available to Folio (Navision/Otzera, VIP, Targit) create standard and automated reports to be used by the Marketing/Sales/Finance teams: monthly inventory analysis; depletion volumes vs. plan and LY, depletions allowance vs. plan and LY, samples vs. plan and LY, Direct Imports by brand vs. plan and LY, monthly Nielsen updates, ……….

Additional Sales Analysis (20%)

Provide analytical support to the VP of Sales and the Regional Sales Directors for ad hoc analysis of current and future business opportunities.

Support National Accounts in development of national/regional account customer RFP documents

Review regional sales processes to help identify opportunities for improvements/efficiencies and develop consistency among regions.

Support corporate retail division in price and product maintenance.

Additional Financial Analysis (20%)

Prepare monthly brand-specific Depletion Allowance accruals for CFO review.

Develop standard costs for new import products.  Maintain and develop standard cost tables and enter into the ERP system upon completion.

Own the ERP monthly distributed reports, individual T&E expense, brand specific Samples, and region P&L

Research & Evaluate Technology (5%)

Identify new tools, software, report structures and KPIs to propose for possible integration into Folio's operations.

Miscellaneous (5%)

Lead ad hoc analytical projects (workflow, ROI, etc.) for Executive Team, as requested


Position Requirements

Professional Requirements:

Education / Experience: BS or MS degree in finance, business, marketing, or related field. Minimum 4 - 5 years of experience in a financial, accounting or business analysis role, preferably in the wine industry.

Skills: Strong project management, business writing, and communication skills. Solid business acumen and analytical skills. Effective time management, organizational and communication skills. Ability to juggle multiple projects at once. Excellent presentation skills.

Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the business cycle in wine, including marketing and sales business processes. Strong computer skills, including advanced-level Excel, business intelligence, ERP and reporting software (Microsoft NAV (ERP), Power BI, Targit preferred).

Physical: Ability to sit at a computer 6+ hours a day.
