Description

BETAH Associates is a professional services firm seeking a Communications Support Specialist. The Communications Support Specialist will lead the development, implementation, and coordination of communication strategy, outreach, content, and information product development. The Communications Support Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies and tactics to support organization outreach and engagement goals. Ideal candidates will have experience helping federal agencies develop communications programs to increase their impact and reach current and new audiences.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with PM and contract team to develop communications strategies and products.
  • Assist with day-to-day management of projects by advancing tasks and deliverables.
  • Maintain process and style guides.
  • Manage deadlines and plans for any logistical/technical requirements.
  • Research communications news and tools.
  • Support quality assurance for all deliverables.
  • Meet regularly with contract team; attend client meetings as needed.
  • Provide input on monthly reporting.
  • Write content for blogs, social media, flyers, slide decks, websites.
  • Copyedit, proofread, and format communications materials.
  • Provide social media support to include reporting on metrics.
  • Assist with document accessibility (Section 508).
 
Position Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and oral communications skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Digital communications skills, experience assisting in social media planning and engagement.
  • Demonstrated understanding of communicating effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under deadline pressure.
  • Ability to build and support strategic partnerships.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Digital Communications, or other related field AND at least 4 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting government-related communications projects
  • Experience working within a government contracting firm
  • Knowledge related to public health, and specifically the aging and disabilities communities, and/or nursing research
  • Experience with Section 508 compliance
