Description

Astronics-PECO, located in picturesque Clackamas, Oregon near the foothills of Mt. Hood, designs, certifies, manufactures, and sells a wide range of products to commercial, government, and military markets throughout the world. Our highly engineered interior and structural aerospace products are supplied to the largest aircraft manufacturers and are installed in aircraft around the globe, and our military products are used in critical national defense applications. The Max-Viz enhanced visions systems (EVS) are designed and certified for use as an improvement to safety by a vast array of airplanes, helicopters, and unmanned-aerial-vehicles in the commercial, government, and military marketplace. PECO-Controls are well established temperature control devices designed for applications where high quality is a must, such as the hospitality industry, commercial cooking, and other critical applications.

We are seeking a skilled HR Generalist / Recruiter to join our team.

 

SUMMARY:

This position will provide general HR support and analysis in multiple functional areas with a greater focus on recruiting and work force planning. Areas of focus include the following: recruiting; employee relations; labor relations; environment, health & safety; employment law and policy development; training; process improvement; regulatory compliance.

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Includes the following duties and others as assigned:

  • Manage and improve the recruiting and hiring functions at PECO to identify, attract and enlist the best talent.
  • Work with departmental managers to develop staffing plans, sourcing and recruiting strategies.
  • Leverage social media platforms and emerging technologies to keep our talent pipeline full.
  • Coordinate the interviewing process, ATS and initial onboarding.
  • Support plant-wide HR functions as directed, to include employee relations, labor relations, policy and procedure, legal compliance, communications and more.
  • Maintain, monitor, and improve HR systems such as the ERP system, ATS, training module and internal databases.
  • Coordinate and/or conduct employee training as needed.
  • Collaborate with management and employees to implement and promote health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Conduct workplace investigations as needed.
  • Administer and interpret collective bargaining agreement (CBA).
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
  • Report consistently to work, on time, and work all hours as necessary.
  • Observe safety and security procedures; report potentially unsafe conditions; use equipment and materials properly.

This position may require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation and this position may be responsible for the performance of various functions that may be an integral part of the Company’s overall SOX / 404 internal control structure.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coaching and mentoring, as needed, but no direct reports. Will provide authoritative direction to employees in the HR capacity as an agent of the Company.

Position Requirements

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
  • 2 or more years of full cycle recruiting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • HR Generalist experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, across all levels of the organization.
  • Presentation and facilitation skills required.
  • High attention to detail required.
  • Possess strong computer skills in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS databases.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal employment and labor laws and governmental compliance requirements.
  • Ability to effectively analyze, interpret and train on policy and employment law issues.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment preferred.
  • EHS knowledge a plus.
