Email Opening Title Youth Mentor Life Skills Coach  Description Job Summary The Family Strength Youth Mentor/Life Skills Coach will exhibit leadership skills and a positive attitude as they provide mentoring to children and youth who are at risk of or who have been diagnosed with a serious emotional behavioral disturbance (SEBD). Majority of client sessions will take place in the school setting. All duties and responsibilities will be performed in accordance with the Yellowhawk Mission and Vision statements, policies and relevant laws. Essential Job Functions Coordination and provision of life skills training for children and youth participating in the Yellowhawk Family Strength’s program. Make connections with program staff to help meet the needs of participants. Participate in training and care planning meetings to provide updates and recommendations on program clients. Serve as a healthy, balanced, consistent caring adult to the children and youth assigned in caseload. Work closely with mental health staff to plan and provide activities that will help meet the needs of Family Strength’s clients. Other duties as assigned.   Position Requirements Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Traditional Health Worker certification or the ability to obtain within one (1) year of employment. Excellent communication skills with the ability to speak before groups of clients or employees of the CTUIR. Knowledge of office information and word processing software programs. Willingness to learn Indian Health Service PCC Behavioral Health Services system or comparable software. Willing to learn Family Strength values and principles. Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain insurance requirements to operate General Services Administration vehicles. Must submit to and pass a reference and criminal background check. Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. Must submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Preferred Qualifications 1.
