Pay: $14.00 per hour to start

Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday (6:30 am - 4:30 pm)

What You Will Be Doing:

Safely transport the people we serve to & from their destinations and ensures the vehicles is in good working order before & after use. Assist with behavioral health and educational services using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis with individuals diagnosed with autism, related mental health disorders, and intellectual disabilities in either 1:1, 1:2, or small group sessions. Implementing behavioral health treatment by providing intensive services based on the individual mental health needs including, but not limited to: skills development, problem-solving, conflict resolution, emotion/behavior management, developing positive coping mechanisms, and managing mental health and behavioral systems to enhance vocational/school opportunities and/or independent living.

  • Report any vehicle malfunctions or needed repairs to the Transportation Coordinator immediately.
  •  Drive gasoline, diesel, or electrically powered multi-passenger vehicles to transport individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities between schools, work, and/or other activities.
  • Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations, using telephones or mobile two-way radios.
  • Ensure everyone has exited the vehicle.
  • Read maps and follow written and verbal geographic directions.
  • Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation systems for passenger comfort.
  • Keep vehicle interiors clean for passengers.
  • Maintain knowledge of first-aid procedures.
  • Make minor repairs to vehicles.
  • Prepare and submit reports that may include the number of passengers or trips, hours worked, mileage, fuel consumption, etc.
  • Collect data and records of service accurately following Boundless procedures.
  • Maintain designated consumer’s data collection methods, documents, records, and materials related to his/her treatment and educational plans.
  • Attend and participate in all treatment and educational team meetings, program meetings 
    and Staff Development Days.
  • Seek, receive, and apply feedback appropriately, professionally, and work towards goals 
    developed by supervisors.
  • Communicate by both hearing and speaking the spoken language in a professional manner 
    with coworkers, outside professionals.
  • Dresses appropriately and arrives on time for work.
  • Responsible for reading and following all I Am Boundless policies and procedures found in the employee handbook.
  • Responsible for reading and following Child Care Licensing Policies, Medicaid, CARF, 
    ASP, DODD policies and procedures, and following all HIPPA regulations.
  • All other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience transporting or driving large vehicles
  • Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid, CPR - adult, child, and infant; delegated nursing. (training will be provided, if not already certified), Defensive Driving Training
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License with Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles--no more than five points on your driving record
  • Proof of auto insurance
  • Required to pass a DOT medical examination

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 5-10 years of experience transporting or driving large vehicles.
  • Experience working in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities.
