School Social Worker needed for full-time, temporary (starting in mid-August for 12 weeks) position.
The school social worker provides a variety of direct and indirect services to students, families, and school personnel to improve academic, social-emotional, and behavioral outcomes. Services are provided to students ages 5-21 in the Autism and Emotional Support programs.
Essential duties provided by the school social worker include delivering a continuum of services to students; consulting with parents, school staff, and outside providers; assessing students' risk of harm; and facilitating access to resources. School social workers deliver classroom-based, small group, and individual counseling and maintain timely, accurate records of services.
Services are provided under the practice models described by the School Social Work Association of America (SSWAA) and the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) as well as the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Standards for School Social Work Services.
