Job Title: Human Resources Director

Reports to: Executive Director of Human Resources for StaffCo

Position Summary:

The Human Resources (HR) Director for the Stony Brook Clinical Practice Management Plan (CPMP) will lead, oversee and actively contribute to all areas of human resources for all individuals co-employed by CPMP and StaffCo. PEO. This will include strategic recruitment and on-boarding, compensation, wellness programs and benefits, performance management, rewards & recognition, learning & development, compliance, employee relations, and organizational development. As a leader of the CPMP/StaffCo. Professional Employer Organization (PEO) Human Resources team she/he will work closely with the team to align the HR agenda with the growth and strategic objectives for the company. Additionally, the HR Director will serve as a primary and comprehensive source of consultation and expertise to all managers and Senior Leaders on HR related issues for the CPMP/Staff Co. PEO employees. The successful candidate will be creative, collaborative, and particularly adept at balancing multiple priorities. The salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications of the incumbent. The incumbent will be employed by StaffCo, LLC. The job location is in Suffolk County, New York.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assess current CPMP/StaffCo. PEO HR policies, processes, and systems. Enhance the HR infrastructure needed to support the company’s growth and business strategies.
  • Translate the strategic and tactical business plans into HR strategic and operational plans.
  • Supervise a growing HR team, including talent acquisition, benefits administration, compensation, succession planning, retention, training, compliance, etc.
  • Continued development of system wide job descriptions and compensation program to ensure streamlined hiring and promote standardization.
  • Enhance policies and programs for effective management of the CPMP/Staff Co. PEO co-employed people resources of the company, including, programs for employee relations, affirmative action, sexual harassment, employee complaints, external education and career development.
  • Oversee/manage employee orientation program including schedules, presentations, reference materials and handouts. Conduct orientations and oversee post orientation tasks to ensure new employee benefits are secured timely and properly.
  • Oversee/manage all CPMP/StaffCo. PEO employee benefit plans including but not limited to medical, dental, disability, Paid Family Leave, FMLA and retirement. Ensure timely and accurate processing of employee benefit plan changes.
  • Manage the budget and other financial measures of the internal Human Resources functions.
  • Measure, track, and improve employee engagement and retention.
  • Benchmark industry-specific, progressive compensation and benefits programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and reporting agencies, and legal compliance with applicable governmental laws and regulations for the CPMP/StaffCo. PEO. Oversee and interact with outside Counsel with respect to associated Employment and HR issues as necessary.
  • Counsel/advise leadership on all aspects of employee relations which include but are not limited to hiring, promotion, disciplinary actions and terminations, to ensure proper documentation is followed as well as any legal ramifications are considered.
  • Reinforce a strong collaborative culture with senior leaders, peers and other functions with the company. Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, commitment, focus and excellence.

Position Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of principles and practices of talent acquisition in a physician practice environment.
  • At least 10 years full time progressively responsible experience as a Human Resources professional. Knowledge of human resources related laws and regulations required. Experience with the legal/regulatory environment in healthcare preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience and track record of success in leading an HR function in a high growth environment.
  • Extensive HR generalist knowledge and skills, with a broad understanding of all the technical and functional components of HR including: compensation, strategic planning, organizational and leadership development, talent management, recruiting, benefits, HRIS, employee relations, M&A, and training and development. To include expertise in MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated success in driving change and shaping an organization’s culture

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience working as a Human Resources Director or equivalent title in a large multi-specialty healthcare organization preferred.
  • SHRM/PHR certification is desirable.
  • Experience managing the HR functions in a co-employment model a plus.

 

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with staff and medical providers. The employee must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

This position is largely sedentary and requires the employee to remain stationary for a majority of the day.
