Job Details

A Bakery Packer / Logistics Assistant will be responsible for packaging bakery, bread, and pastries in a careful and sanitary manner, specific to orders for wholesale customers. The position requires organization and coordination between wholesale, bakers, and delivery drivers. From milling flour, to utilizing it in our recipes and baking wonderful pastries, the Packer is one of the final steps that ensures all of the care and labor that goes into a single baked good makes it to our end customer and local coffee shop or market store.

Packing:

  • Package certain items for day-of or next day-delivery in a careful and efficient manner
  • Package the correct items, in correct quantities, based off of a customer’s invoice, with the Customer Name, Date, and Items clearly written on packaging
  • Organize the packed items so they are easy to transport into our delivery vans and so that they do not move around or get crushed during transport.
  • Keep work areas, refrigerated walk-ins, freezers, etc clean and organized so product is easy to identify

Other Functions:

  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the wholesale department as directed by the Department Manager or Lead Driver
  • Complying with health and food safety standards, restocking items, and cleaning

Physical Functions:

  • Ability to stand/walk a minimum of 8 hours or as needed
  • Must be able to exert well-paced and frequent mobility for periods of up to 8 hours or as needed
  • Be able to lift up to 20-30 pounds frequently
  • Will frequently reach, feel, bend, stoop, and carry
  • Work in both warm and cool environments
  • Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications, Education and Behavior:

  • At least 18 years old
  • Proficient in reading and writing English language
  • Ability to work quickly and precisely while maintaining safety standards and procedures
  • Work either 2pm-10pm or 10pm-5am and be on time
  • Work consistent schedule at least 4 days per week
  • Available for work on Fridays/Saturdays/Sundays
  • Basic understanding and being able to identify different baked goods and pastries with direction and training
