Position Summary:

As the Night Manager you oversee all aspects of the overnight operation, reporting to the Director of Hotel Operations. Departments with overnight representation include Front Office, Housekeeping/EVS, Guest Services/ Valet, Culinary, In-Room Dining, Engineering and Security. The ideal candidate will have several years of front office management experience, has strong interpersonal and leadership skills, can operate in a self-sufficient manner, and enjoys the overnight shift. Essential Functions:

  • Monitor overnight staff activities to assure that service and cleaning standards are met, staff is being supported and guest needs are being met.
  • Resolve guest concerns from all areas of the hotel, handling all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible.
  • Assist Front Office with Audit coverage as needed, reviewing arrivals, departures and billing requirements. Review daily arrivals to ensure handling of Special Attention Guests etc.
  • Support security in any hotel emergency or safety situation as well as matters related to the safety and well being of hotel guests and Team Members.
  • Check guests in and out, run daily reports and block rooms for arriving guests.
  • Manage EVS overnight cleaning projects ensuring cleanliness of public areas.
  • Communicate with all overnight Team Members and brief their department managers as needed.
  • Show Initiative, Problem Solving, Staff Training, Team Leading.
  • Ensure that team members are well presented (uniforms, personal hygiene etc), and punctual.
  • Ensure team members have current knowledge of hotel products, services, facilities and events.
  • Have good knowledge of all systems and standard operating procedures.

Position Requirements

Qualifications / Special Skills:

  • Must have a minimum of 2-3 years’ work experience as an Assistant Manager in hotel operations or comparable experience.
  • Preferred experience in a luxury hotel in Front Office.
  • Knowledge of hotel PMS System is required.
  • Well-developed communication and guest relations skills.
  • Highly organized, results-oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure. ?
  • Solid working computer skills and knowledge including but not limited to Springer Miller, Opera PMS.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in English.
  • Available to work varied shifts when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
