Share Email Opening Title DevOps Engineer II  EOE Statement Ascentis is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.   Description As a member of an Agile team, a DevOps Engineer will be working collaboratively with software and QA engineers to provide tooling, build, deploy, operate, monitor, and support the Ascentis SaaS solution. An individual in this role must have passion for efficiency, automation, consistency, and repeatable processes. Knowledge of various operating systems, networking, infrastructure components, technology platforms, and creative out-of-the-box thinking is expected. Be part of the DevOps agile team and actively participate in all Agile ceremonies and activities Actively participate in the design and implementation of an SDLC process with Jira, Jenkins,  Bitbucket and Puppet Establish and enforce best practices regarding configuration management and software deployment Support other Agile teams by resolving issues during the development process Propose ideas on improvement of our systems and processes Stay current as regards to new DevOps practices as well as Configuration Management and CI/CD tools and strategies Prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment   Position Requirements What are we looking for in a candidate? At least 5+ years of experience in a DevOps or IT/Sysadmin role Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language Understanding of Agile methodology preferred. Understanding of Configuration Management concepts. Understanding of implementing “Infrastructure as Code” concept preferred. Understanding of Git or similar version control system preferred. Understanding of SOA architecture. Experience with Continuous Integrations tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, TravisCI, etc. Experience with puppet module, Hiera, roles and profiles Education/experience/technical considerations: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience. Experience with Windows and/or *nix based operating systems preferred Experience virtualization systems like VMWare, VirtualBox or Hyper-V preferred Experience with Cloud Systems like AWS, Azure or Google Cloud preferred Experience with infrastructure as code like Puppet, Chef, SaltStack, Ansible preferred Experience with software application build process with Java, C++, .NET preferred Experience with scripting languages CMD, PowerShell, Ruby, or Python preferred Experience with Ops to DevOps transition to fully automated deployment preferred Strong administrator management with Linux & Windows preferred   Location Uruguay   About the Organization The Ascentis mission is to create innovative products that are easy to use for the often under-served mid-market that cover the full Human Capital Management (HCM) suite.
