Position Field Service VOIP Engineer  
Description

SUMMARY: Provides system and software application design, installation, programming, and support services to Allen’s clients. Allen Corporation is an Authorized Business Partner of Mitel Networks. Projects may include short and/or long term service support in addition to installation and upgrades. Responsibilities may be carried out on-site at the client’s location or may be accomplished remotely. Service and support may necessitate after hours schedules.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Provide remote and on-site technical support and application assistance;
  • Analyze and support full service technology systems;
  • Application development and integration services;
  • Supply network and solution development services;
  • Provide application training and support to end users;
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Experience and Certifications on Mitel VOIP solutions are required or must be attained. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. When working on site, the work environment can occasionally consist of electrical and mechanical hazards and also could be poorly ventilated and dusty.

 
Position Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associates degree with 5 + years of experience. Five years experience can be substituted for education. Mitel Certifications will be considered in lieu of education.

SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE: The following certification is required: Mitel 3300 Certification; VOIP specific product and application certifications are preferred.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Analytical thinking;
• Diagnostic and troubleshooting of network and product performance;
• Must be self-directed and have the ability to work independently without supervision;
• Problem solving skills for complex technological systems;
• Must have an intricate working knowledge of computer hardware and software, IP telephony services and devices, and diagnostic testing equipment.
