Position Regional Finance Manager  
Description

This key regional finance position will be responsible for all day-to-day accounting activities for two distinct business units. Position will act as the liaison between operations, marketing and corporate offices. Position will have a dual reporting structure.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize and direct all accounting activities for a stand-alone business as well as a region within the scrap business.
  • Manage day to day operations of existing cost accounting function (including percentage of completion and job costing).
  • Perform monthly close activities including preparation of stand-alone and regional financial statements and analysis.
  • Develop metrics and tracking system for major cost drivers.
  • Identify and drive cost reduction opportunities.
  • Prepare monthly analysis of cost of goods sold and operational expenses, providing explanations and business solutions to help mitigate risks.
  • Analyze financial performance against key business metrics and document pertinent financial highlights that will enable management to determine progress against budgets.
  • Develop and manage pro forma valuation, financial, and operating models with business development
  • Identify, investigate, and analyze potential financial and operational improvements
  • Prepare capital request summaries/cost justifications.
  • Prepare annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
  • Monitor actual net tons versus contracted tons
  • Assist with development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure strong internal controls and business improvements.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting with an excellent academic record.
  • Seven to ten years of experience in accounting including financial analysis experience.
  • CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and history of driving process improvement and making a difference.
  • Preferred experience with job costing..
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
