Description

The Greeter/Screener welcomes, screen all clients and vendors entering the CHC and will refer to the COVID-19 guidelines and Infection Prevention to screen for symptoms of COVID-19. This position is involved in conducting temperature reading and pandemic questionnaire for acceptance into the CHC environment.

Team Activities

  • Cordially greets clients and vendor upon arrival. Ascertains clients and or vendors needs and directs them accordingly.
  • Screens staff, patients and visitors as indicated by CHC procedure and provides information and direction as appropriate.
  • Receives deliveries and dispatches as needed to the teams.
  • Communicates and enforces entrance policies, which may include universal masking and visitor restrictions-will offer medical grade mask to client without or with ineffective mask.
  • Works in collaboration with all staff and volunteers to ensure patients, family, and staff receive accurate, timely, and service-oriented assistance.
  • Assists clients in calling for a Cab as needed.
  • Monitor client drop off and pick up –Paratranspo/accessible Taxi: notifies client’s team when arrives.
  • Monitors the overall appearance of the CHC entrance.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist clients, answer questions, provide information and direct people to the CHC location they need, thus creating an atmosphere in the CHC that is caring, yet efficient.
  • Act as the entrance greeter/screener and will also serve as the mail distributer, deliver incoming mail/parcels to specific teams throughout the Centre.
  • May assist with clerical duties such as making copies, filing and occasional entry of information into PSS. May assist in patient mailings and other clerical projects.
  • Distributes client satisfaction surveys and help customers with Ocean tablet usage to ensure it is completed.
  • Cleaning Intake/waiting area (all surfaces and door handles following current IPAC guidelines).
  • Helping 1290 Coldrey tenants with Wheelchair sign out.
 
Position Requirements
  • Dependable and caring individual who has the ability to communicate courteously and effectively with patients, families and staff.
  • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to adapt to change and have the willingness to learn.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and various software applications, including Microsoft Office programs, client database software, and electronic record keeping in a client services setting.

Linguistic Profile

  • This position is not designated under Carlington’s French Language Services Plan.
  • Proficiency in English required.
  • Bilingualism (French / English) is preferred, a third language relevant to our client population is an asset.
