Description

The Board Administrator manages day-to-day operations of CCE’s client the North Carolina Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors (NCBLCMHC). Provides high-level administrative support by conducting research; preparing statistical reports; handling information requests; and performing clerical functions such as preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, arranging conference calls, and scheduling meetings. Required to use a wide degree of creativity and latitude in daily decision-making, thereby relieving the vice president of administrative functions. Required to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Serves as board administrator of the NCBLCMHC and provides direct professional executive services on behalf of the board to enforce North Carolina’s Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors Act

• Performs project coordination activities on a daily basis

• Confers with the Vice President of CCE, NCBLCMHC Executive Board members, board attorney, board investigators, organization officials, and/or staff members to discuss issues, coordinate activities, and resolve problems

• Manages five (5) support personnel for the NCBLCMHC

• Analyzes operations to evaluate the performance of NCBLCMHC or its staff in meeting objectives or to determine areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement, or policy change

• Directs, plans, and implements policies, objectives, and activities to maximize efficiency

• Coordinates board and committee meetings to establish and maintain various licensing efforts and encourages board and committees to keep within established time frames, working with staff members as necessary to incorporate best practices into service development and provision

• Researches policies and processes of similar boards as needed to establish and refine best practices

• Researches, develops, and submits all state and federal reports, as required

• Performs activities required for planning and implementing meetings and conferences, as needed

• Assists with applicant and licensee database development, maintenance, and associated issues

• Maintains an up-to-date database of consumer/client complaints related to counseling practices in North Carolina

• Ensures consumer complaints are responded to appropriately and in accordance with the LPC Act of North Carolina

• Provides monthly and as needed status updates to the Director of State Licensure Operations regarding board operations

• Presents at universities and conferences regarding the licensure process

• Travels for board business as directed

• Provides information to the Director of State Licensure Operations, board, and legislators regarding legislation affecting the field of regulation and counselors

• Other duties as assigned
