Description

JOB SUMMARY:

This is a multi-area role that supports the plant as a team on initial Quality, White Room, or Clean Room quality standards / inspection. The Quality Assurance Technician is a critical function that requires attention to detail, a 'quality' orientation and adherence to governing policies and procedures. Assist in achieving company's safety, quality, schedule, and cost.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for performing dimensional/visual inspections of products (purchased, manufactured, packaged, etc…) and packaging/labeling - including First Article Inspections.
  • Become efficient in detecting product defects.
  • Proficient in paperwork requirements pertaining to individual customers.
  • Communicates closely with Quality Engineers and Technicians to solve quality issues.
  • Well organized and able to prioritize work to meet shipping schedules and maintain quality standards.
  • Help maintain calibration and preventative maintenance of control equipment.
  • Assist with Complaint containment activities.
  • Assist with RMA (returns) processing activities.
  • Will be asked to assist in other manufacturing areas as needed.
  • Identify areas for improvement.
  • Communicate quality issues and concerns to supervisor.
  • Leading others in QC Activities, including training.

 
Position Requirements

EDUCATION:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must pass a quality measurement skill test

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least one year in similar role preferred, but not required.
  • Basic Measurement tool skills
  • Understanding Units of Measurement (UOM)
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate ability to interpret drawings, dimensions and tolerances.
  • Good Math and Communication Skills
  • Working knowledge of Epicor and basic spreadsheet skills
  • Experience with Windows/Office applications
  • File management skills a plus
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing is a plus
  • Medical Device and Cleanroom experience is a plus.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  • 10-50 pounds required to be lifted, moved or handled.
  • Typically, 8-10 hour shifts.
