Astronics AeroSat Corporation recently relocated to Manchester, New Hampshire doubling the size of our building in order to support our projected growth. We design and manufacture tail-mounted and fuselage-mounted aircraft SATCOM systems to provide inflight internet and live TV connectivity for commercial and business aviation, VVIP, and military aircraft around the world.

Primary Function:

Perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Circuit board rework/repair, assemble/modify wire cables and wire harnesses along with building of electronic and mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies at times with the application and/or removal of conformal coat to circuit boards to achieve a quality finished product that meet company procedures and FAA guidelines for aerospace technology. Ensure that all parts and products are in proper working order and meet the quality standards of the company and industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform work utilizing released assembly drawing documents and work instructions.
  • Set up and operate typical production tools and test equipment such as but not limited to torque wrenches, wire cutters, strippers and crimpers as well as power supplies, Multi Meters, and measuring tools such as rulers and digital calipers.
  • Organizes work traveler and parts lists, sorting parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Soldering and de-soldering SMT integrated circuit parts and through-hole parts on PCBs.
  • Resolve assembly problems to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
  • Ability to use thinking and reasoning to troubleshoot problems both mechanical and electrical.

     

     

 
Position Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

Preferred:

  • 3 years of experience in production environment.
  • Familiarity with the use of test equipment such as temperature chambers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
  • Ability to read, understand, and comply with written design process requirements.
  • Self-driven, methodical thinker, able to excel with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including ability to present technical information in team environment.
  • Troubleshoot electronic systems, components, and circuitry for use in aircraft environment.
  • Rework and repair experience.
  • Certified to or be able to be certified to IPC J-STD-001.
  • Mechanical assembly skills.

Required:

  • 3+ years experience soldering electronic components.
  • Through-hole and surface mount soldering skills.
  • Soldering with the use of a microscope.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Ability to work within a team as a team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Work independently, interpret assembly drawings and follow verbal/written work instructions to produce a high quality product within the allotted time frame
