Description

The Licensing Specialist is an integral part in ensuring that the Art Department operations run smoothly and is successful in supporting other department needs. The detail-oriented Licensing Specialist thrives in a fast-paced environment. This position requires an individual who is a committed team player and can be counted on to take ownership of assigned projects from start to finish with minimal supervision. Strong communication skills with artists, teammates and other departments is critical. The Licensing Specialist must be organized and dependable - showing character and care for the work produced, while having the ability to be adaptable and agile. The role requires initiative, diplomacy, and accuracy, all accomplished in a fast-paced, creative environment.

As a member of the Williamson Home community, this role should demonstrate a servant leadership philosophy and should use this philosophy when fulfilling the below listed responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all Art Files, maintaining accurate information throughout development lifecycle from onboarding to expiration
  • Work within department email account, keeping it well organized, communicating in a timely manor
  • Provide trademark clearance and consultation, overseen by VP of Product Development and President
  • Search, verify and assign copyright or trademark ownership
  • Determine the usage rights of phrases and sentiments - whether a phrase is either good to use, approved with certain restrictions, not approved or restricted due to copyright
  • Maintain copyright or trademark ownership reference records and update systems accordingly
  • Proofread all purchased designs, check grammar, spelling and copyright of artist
  • Foster a collaborative creative environment with artists, agents and other Williamson Home colleagues by provoking inspiring conversation centered around viable, marketable art

Qualifications:

  • 0-3 years experience in a professional office setting
  • Critical thinker who efficiently and effectively defines a problem, plans strategy, collects information, interprets information and reports findings
  • Must be detail oriented, accurate, and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must anticipate needs, be proactive, and take initiative in seeing tasks to completion
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess a natural curiosity and resourcefulness
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building working relationships within all departments across the organization
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to understand priorities and meet specific deadlines
  • Proficiency in Excel and Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Knowledge or interest in Intellectual Property is preferred
  • Interest in Art, Design and Home Décor is preferred
  • High EQ level and ability to apply interpersonal and communication skills to various situations
