AmeriCorp Volunteer for Food Commodity Program 

Category Warehouse Operations  

General Responsibilities:

  • Assist with everyday operations of commodity food programs.
  • Protect the privacy of customers/families and hold in confidence all information obtained in the course of services.
  • Provide quality professional customer service at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete annual site reviews for all CSFP distribution sites
  • Audit CSFP robocall list for missing customers
  • Develop tracking system for commodity program staff and volunteers Civil Rights Trainings, collect Civil Rights Trainings from volunteers and staff as needed.
  • Survey customers over the phone, or at distribution sites, for annual Nutrition Education Survey.
  • Participate in personal and professional development activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Eligibility for Americorps VISTA Summer Associate program

Additional Requirements:

  • Must have proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet)
  • Demonstrated communication skills both oral and written.
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license.
  • Must be self-directed and able to coordinate the completion of assigned tasks and be willing to accept new challenges on a daily basis.
  • Must comply with the Agency drug free and smoke free policies.
  • The duties require a working cell phone for accessibility to supervisors, clients, or co-workers or to enhance personal safety while away from the office location.
  • Understand the importance of daily work attendance, and its impact on coworkers, clients, and the agency.
