Position Requirements

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of administrative and human resource experience required.

Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in Human Resources or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Strong customer service and communication skills

Ability to work independently with minimal direction.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel) is preferred

Performs administrative duties in the City’s Human Resource Department, including filing documents, answering phones, maintaining calendars, travel arrangements, scanning documents, organizing files.

Must have demonstrated the ability to work independently and within a team environment in a fast paced every changing atmosphere.

Description

Summary:

The Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible for various related duties focusing on recruitment and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as first point of contact for Human Resources, including calls, employee verifications.
  • Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions, directing them to appropriate staff.
  • Assist with the payment of department invoices.
  • Provide various administrative functions for the department including but not limited to order supplies and scanning documents.
  • Maintain personnel files, documents and archive documents in accordance with the retention schedule and HR policies and procedures.
  • Represents the City at job fairs and hiring events, assist with recruitment.
  • Maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and City Information.
  • Support HR Department with wellness and employee engagement initiatives and serves as point of contact.
  • Provide follow up to assignments and weekly and monthly status reports to the HR Director.
  • Assisting Risk Manager with administrative tasks.
  • Effectively communicates essential employment information by drafting communications to all employees.
  • Coordinates human resources programs such as employee appreciation programs, wellness program; and safety program.
  • Composes, proofreads, and types correspondence, memoranda, reports, and presentations.
  • Maintain various departmental spreadsheets.
  • Attends meetings and seminars.
  • May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.
