What You Would Be Doing

The Residential Manager is responsible to the Program Administrator and will direct, supervise, and assist in planning the overall operation of the residential home - maintaining supplies & food while ensuring nutritious meals are being served, coordinating services & appointments, assisting with the annual budget while also providing liaison services with parents, employees, and other interested parties. The Residential Manager supervises assigned employees; screens, interviews, and recommends applicants for hire; recommends assignments; transfers, promotions, disciplinary actions, grievance resolutions, and other personnel actions; evaluates employee performance; develops and implements employee work schedules. 

This role also supervises and provides assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of Individual Habilitation Plans to assess, review and meet needs of residents; monitors programs of residents following the individual residential program reviews and evaluations to ensure the adequacy of services.

 
Position Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5  years of experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and/or behavioral health conditions, human services or the mental health field.
  • Must be able to communicate in English, including both spoken and in writing.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid, CPR - adult, child, and infant; delegated nursing.
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License with Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles; proof of auto insurance.
  • No more than 5 points on license.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • College Degree in psychology, human development, social work, or a related field.

Special Skills and Requirements:

  • Must be detail-oriented and have competent literacy and writing, documentation, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Must be able to use tools and equipment as required – including pushing/pulling wheelchairs, lifting consumers with Hoyer lifts

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Ability to complete training and apply knowledge to work with individuals served.
  • Ability to accurately document required data.
  • Operate and conduct self in a professional manner at all times.
  • Ability to hear and speak spoken language in communication with individuals served, other staff, family members of individuals, and members of the general public.
  • Ability to accept and implement feedback and constructive criticism related to job duties and performance.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
