Description

The Cross Regional Afterschool and Summer Meals Coordinator will play a critical role in achieving the mission of the CAFB to create access to good, healthy food in every community. This position will support the work of the Kids Cafe team through the administration of federal child nutrition programs; working with the regional Maryland, DC and Virginia Afterschool & Summer Meals Coordinators to schedule and oversee completion of site reviews. This position will work in a collaborative environment as part of the CAFB's Kids Café Team and will be cross trained to provide in person and virtual site review support in all three regions. The coordinator will ensure that the master site review schedule meets federal compliance requirements, that all are completed in a timely manner, and will record and review completed site review paperwork.

 
Position Requirements

Program Administration

  • Creates and monitors master site review schedule for MD, DC and VA
  • Conducts federally required site visits as needed for program compliance and delegates visits to regional coordinators
  • Provides practical and technical support to sites in-person, by phone, and email;
  • Coordinates with other regional Afterschool and Summer Meals Coordinators on tasks as assigned and determines best practices to improve the child nutrition programs.

Community-based Site Management

  • Strengthens relationships with sites by providing onsite support during site visits, or referring questions to the appropriate regional coordinator
  • Plans and co-leads support trainings for Link2Feed, our client intake software, as needed
  • Educates food bank community and external supports on site's work and successes.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and databases
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience with conflict resolution
  • Embrace organization’s mission and core values
  • Ability to work professionally with a diverse constituent base

Position Requirements 

  • AA degree + 1 – 3 years of work exp in a related field.
  • Knowledge of DMV community strongly preferred
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • This position requires you to be fully vaccinated per the DC GOV Mandate
