Share Email Opening Title Cost Estimator  Category Estimating   Description LaForce is looking for a Cost Estimator to be responsible for calculating product costs while determining the issues involved in developing a bid for the Finish Hardware section. There is no prior experience necessary for this position as long as you have the willingness to learn. Major Responsibilities Read specifications and documents for the project to become familiar with the requirements. Determine quantities of hardware items to provide and determine costs of hardware items specified. Evaluate the documents for code errors and/or discrepancies. Review quantities, summaries, and price materials from take-offs using price books, vendor quotations, and buying programs. Develop a strategy that minimizes risk and provides the greatest opportunity for the salesperson to sell the project. Communicate with customers, co-workers, factories, vendor representatives, or product distributors to obtain pricing and information about a product. Qualifications Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Must be willing to learn additional LaForce computer software. Must have strong communication skills. Must be able to handle multiple projects at one time and meet deadlines. Drug Screen and background check required.
