Description – Part Time Medical Assistant/Float position
Seeking a part time medical assistant to work our of several of our Hudson Valley Pediatric Specialty Practices. Position is a floating position for approximately 20 hours per week and pays an increased travel rate of $19.50/hour
Specific job duties:
-Takes patient’s vital signs, height, weight
-Assists provider, prepares and stocks exam rooms
-Assists patients and providers to exam rooms
-Communicates with front desk staff as necessary
-Assists providers during patient exam as needed
-Performs various testing, including, but not limited to: spirometry, EKG, urinalysis
-Triage phone calls, answering basic questions, making appts and referring to provider when need arises
-Records patient information concisely, accurately and completely in patient electronic chart
-Cleans and sanitizes equipment as necessary
-Have ability to multi-task and set priorities accordingly
-Other duties as necessary to ensure smooth functioning of office
-Maintains strictest confidentiality of patient’s records in accordance with BCHP policy and HIPPA regulations
Position Requirements: Applicant must be computer literate, be flexible and have excellent interpersonal skills. Nextgen/Phreesia experience a plus. Medical assistant certification and 1 year pediatric experience preferred.
