Maintenance Person will trouble shoot, maintain, repair and conduct preventive maintenance on all facility equipment. Primary focus will be on maintenance and repair of large stationary equipment, supplemented with maintenance of mobile equipment and other rolling stock.
Inspect and conduct preventive maintenance on all equipment
Maintain facility equipment, on site / or off site, including but not limited to:
Downstream sorting lines
Wire stripper (if applicable)
Operate switch engine and other mobile equipment (if applicable)
Prepare & maintain all maintenance records
Repair equipment based off reading of blueprints and schematic diagrams for machinery
Fabrication of parts to make repairs of equipment
Organize and maintain cleanliness of Maintenance Department
May be involved in variety of other responsibilities including ordering parts, welding, and fabricating, including minor electrical repairs
High school diploma or GED required and a two-year AAS (technical degree) and/or technical certification in Truck Repair, Welding, Hydraulics, Electrical & Diesel Mechanics required.Minimum, 2-4 years of experience in truck repairs, diesel mechanics, hydraulics, welding, electrical record keeping, and preventive maintenance programs. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read and understand hydraulic and electrical blueprints. Must be able to analyze facts and determine corrective action using a range of procedures within limits of standard practice.Must be able to multi-task & have the ability to develop effective working relationships with vendors & suppliers. Must be able to operate equipment for trouble-shooting purposes.¬ Good communication skills and some computer skills are required to utilize online PM programs as well as computer diesel, hydraulic and or electrical programs.¬ Candidates with previous experience in machining parts, along with direct experience in repairing, maintaining and operating mobile equipment will have an advantage.
