Share Email Opening Title Intern, Mechanical Engineering (Summer)  Astronics Subsidiary   Location   Description General Summary Provides assistance to the Mechanical Engineering Department performing a wide range of administrative functions in support of documentation requirements for the electromechanical design of new and existing products, system components, packaging, tooling and the fabrication of product prototypes. Monitors project status and cost performance. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Provide assistance with inputs to the Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) system. Provide assistance in the coordination of engineering change orders for engineering projects/programs. Assists in the tracking of redline documentation and performs staff support activities to develop, implement and administer engineering policies and programs. Assists in the preparation of statistical reports from the Engineering databases. Provides assistance on special projects and performs general office administration.   Position Requirements Job Specifications This is an on-the-job opportunity for a college student to gain direct experience in the mechanical engineering/design/drafting functions. Must be Junior or Senior standing and a student majoring in Mechanical Engineering or related area of study. Must have competencies in Solidworks 3D modeling Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook plus Adobe Acrobat and an aptitude to learn the Manufacturing Resource Planning system. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.
