Material Roll Goods Engineer 

Description
  • Obtain approvals on roll goods cover materials and leather used in automotive interiors
  • Includes TPO, PVC, PUR, and leather cover materials plus sheet stock foam material
  • Investigate new and material improvements beneficial for cost savings at plant and PDT levels
  • Create, trial, and close out open issues related to current and new roll goods/textiles/leather
  • Work closely with the other materials engineers to co-develop best marriage of materials
  • Provide purchasing functions for supplier evaluation, negotiation, and agreements
  • Fully support the Product Development Teams in implementing new roll goods and leather
  • Create internal Material key numbers for all new materials
  • Fulfill all customer validation requirements per their test specifications
  • Must maintain extreme level of confidentiality both internally and externally
  • Be point contact with the customer for all things related to roll goods and leather
  • Assist in NDA agreements for all potential suppliers
  • Travel, both domestic and international, to support Inteva’s Program and Projects
 
Position Requirements

  • Works effectively in a team environment
  • Highly effective problem solving skills and willingness to root cause problems
  • Preferred knowledge of DOE (Design of Experiments)
  • Able to summarize then present data in structured and understandable manner
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong degree of self-motivation and self-direction; Strong organization and documentation skills
  • Familiarity with automotive interiors manufacturing systems, tools, processes, and materials
  • Quality engineering experience
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain organization
  • Knowledge of full value stream for automotive interiors
  • Familiarity with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis
 
Education Requirement B.S. Engineering or equivalent - preferred Chemical knowledge; 3 years of automotive experience
