Quality Technician 

Description

Follow all safety rules and ensure safety as an overriding principle

Maintain cleanliness and 5S of work area and equipment

Follow requirements to maintain IATF and GM BIQS certification

Work with quality team to help with other functions when needed – teamwork

Collect part samples per specifications and control plans

Set up test fixtures, controls, and data acquisition

Calibrate, verify, and operate daily measurement and control equipment

Responsible for the functionality and operation of three-dimensional measuring machine and other 2D and 3D measurement tools

Actively participate in quality problem solving

Analyze samples of auxiliary materials and finished products and determine physical-geometrical properties

Perform initial validation of data

Chart, perform SPC, analyze, and communicate data and findings, as required

Perform basic user maintenance of test equipment

Provide quick, effective escalation of any potential suspect findings

Keep track of records and prepare specific analysis reports

 
Position Requirements

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar position

Good written and oral communication

High level of interpersonal skills to work well with others

Basic computer ability, including Excel

Experience in a manufacturing company

Experience with shop tools, gauges, and fixtures

Experience with CMM measurements (software PC-DMIS)

Experience in 3D measurements

Knowledge of drawing interpretation

Able to work 2nd, or 3rd shift

Able to work overtime

 
Education Requirement Advanced technical degree or High school diploma/GED in addition to equivalent experience
