Share Email Opening Title Assembler 3/4, 2nd Shift Mon - Thurs 3:00 pm. - 1:30 am (2021-056)  Astronics Subsidiary Astronics AES   Location Kirkland, WA   Description JOB SUMMARY The Assembler will perform a wide range of electronic & mechanical assembly operations while using assembly drawings, parts lists, work-instructions, wiring lists. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Assemble and modify new and/or prototype both at the sub-assembly and final assembly levels. Perform specialized assignments in complex assembly. Perform a wide variety of electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical or measurement product assembly operations on product components, assemblies or sub-assemblies. Perform accurate rework, repairs and modification in order to support new product development and production. Determine and/or follow methods and sequence of operations in performing component installation and fitting on assembly units. Ability to use a variety of hand tools, including torque drivers. Make setups and adjustments holding tolerances to work instructions. Perform functional tests such as Hi-pot and continuity tests. Ability to perform manual setups as needed. Requires a higher level of certifications. May perform additional skills such as soldering. Assists with programming issues. Other duties as assigned   Position Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education/Experience: Minimum requirements: High School diploma or GED required Demonstrates competency (typically 2-4 years of direct experience in the essential functions of the position) Preferred requirements: High School diploma or GED required Demonstrates competency (typically 4-6 years of direct experience in the essential functions of the position) May be required to obtain AES Rework Certification, PRB Certification, AES Flight Critical Certification, IPC 7711, and IPC 7721 Competencies: Comprehension – Understand and apply information conveyed in written and oral methods Communication – Communicate information and ideas, written and verbal, so others will understand Problem Sensitivity — Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem and notifying appropriate people. Customer service – Understand and quickly respond to customer needs Problem solving – Identify when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong in routine activities or processes. Coordinate with others to resolve the issue. Instructing — Teaching others how to do something. Time Management — Managing one's own time and the time of others. Physical Abilities: Near Vision — See details at close range (within a few feet of the observer) Visual Color Discrimination – Match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness Finger Dexterity — Make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects Technical Skills: Electronic mail software Enterprise resource planning ERP software ESD, FOD, ERS and Uniform Torqueing Certification May be required to obtain AES Inspection Pro, IPC 610 and/or AES Solder Certification Work Environment: Indoors, environmentally controlled Manufacturing environment Production demand may have times of increased time pressure Must use required PPE May involve long periods of sitting May involve repetitive motions Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. as needed, with totes, etc. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS Must be a US Person (under ITAR rules) to be eligible.
