Since it's opening in 1999, the property has seen continual growth in both gaming and non-gaming assets. Description

Position: Snack Bar/Smoke Shop Attendant

Department: Food and Beverage

Reports to: Operations Manager

FLSA Status: Full Time Hourly-Non-Exempt

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Educational level usually associated with the attainment of a high school diploma or GED, technical school training or apprenticeship training or equivalent combination of education and leadership experience.
  • Requires the knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with personal computers, point of sale systems, safety equipment, etc.
  • Must be knowledgeable in guest service, cash control policies, practices and protocols.
  • Strong customer service orientation required.
  • Must be able to work effectively with peers, staff members, and regulatory agency personnel.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required.
  • Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Must portray a positive attitude under all circumstances, understand and represent the core values of Apache Homelands and live the mission of providing exceptional service at all times.
  • Responsible for opening and/or closing the snack bar / smoke shop in accordance with operating procedures, safety and sanitation regulations and cash control policies and procedures.
  • Ability to read, write and understand the English language.
  • Demonstrates an upbeat and outgoing demeanor while on duty and promotes outstanding customer and team member relations.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, laws, internal policies/procedures, and control protocols.
  • Effectively communicate with and provide guests with required service and resolve guest service problems in accordance with authority.
  • Provides cashier service for sales and packaging transactions for items offered at the snack bar and smoke shop.
  • Serve food menu items offered at the snack bar, serving hot food hot and cold food cold, with appropriate condiments, napkins and other standard products to complete the order, ensuring complete customer (guest & team member) satisfaction.
  • Quickly clear dirty table settings and prepare table for next customer, transporting all dirty tableware to trash or dishwashing area for proper cleaning.
  • Wipe down table tops, including drink accessories table.
  • Wipe down soda and coffee machines, including spigots, and wash coffee machine trays.
  • Wipe down sugar/creamer dispenser and fill as needed.
  • Re-stock pie case, drink coolers, cups, lids, napkins, meal kits, jellies, etc. as needed.
  • Wipe down snack bar and smoke shop counters and half wall in dining area.
  • Wipe down all computers, and POS stations in snack bar, smoke shop and front bar area.
  • Wipe down front bar area, including cage windows and ATM.
  • Straighten dry storage area, including cleaning shelf liners if needed
  • Empty trash cans.
  • Re-stock cigarette cartons & packs as needed in smoke shop.
  • Fill reservoir in cigar humidor.
  • Clean mirrors, sinks, & countertops in restrooms. Clean and sanitize toilets and urinal.
  • Check towel and soap dispensers in kitchen and restrooms and as well as toilet paper holders in restrooms and fill all as needed.
  • Sweep and mop all tile areas in café, hallway and restrooms, including under wine rack and coolers.
  • Sweep outside walkway and stairs
  • Vacuum all carpeted areas including cage, mantrap, museum, smoke shop, front bar area and dining area.
  • Clean all glass surfaces – windows, doors, mirrors, etc.
  • Empty trash cans and install new trash can liner.
  • Clean baseboards
  • Wipe down trash cans, fire extinguishers and vents.
  • Wipe down all chairs, including highchairs and underneath all tables and table legs.
  • Clean the front of the snack bar and the shelves behind the snack bar.
  • Clean top, bottom and gate railing in the smoke shop.
  • Clean the top of the cigar humidor.
  • Clean inside and out of the front bar area, including walls, counters, etc.
  • Thoroughly clean the cage and man trap, including all machines.
  • Wipe down racks in the smoke shop.
  • Dust pictures and walls, including front entrance.
  • Clean restroom stall walls, doorways, and doors. Clean storage cabinets in restrooms. Wash baseboards. Clean drain pipes under sinks and toilets.
  • Empty butt can at front entrance.
  • Weekly clean inside soda spigots
  • Understands and complies with established appearance standards.
  • Understands and complies with the attendance policy of the facility.
  • Understands and complies with the Eye-Hi-Goodbye or other Guest Service Program.
  • Performs other related duties as may be assigned by reporting supervisor, including cross training.
  • All other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job

While performing the duties of this job, the team member may occasionally sit; and uses hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The team member may stand for prolonged periods, work in confined spaces and around temperature extremes, walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duty of this job, the team member is regularly exposed to risks associated with travel back and forth to other areas as may be required due to business demands. The team member is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including second-hand environmental smoke. The noise level in the work environment varies from light to moderate.

At a minimum, the selected candidate will be required to pass a background check and drug-screening test, obtain a New Mexico food handler permit, and should have the ability to become alcohol server certified.
