We are currently looking for a Sr. Investment Advisor to join our Investment Resource Group. In this position, you will provide a value-added service to credit union members regarding investment advice and counsel. Conduct needs assessment with members/clients to understand their current financial position and future financial goals. Present, open, and service relevant investment, insurance, and/or retirement products. Act in the best interest of the member/client regarding product and service options. Conduct regularly scheduled portfolio reviews with assigned clients to monitor client progress toward financial goals. Develop member/client referral sources from credit union departments, Select Employer Groups, and in the community. Products offered by Investment Services are through an affiliated broker-dealer, CUSO Financial Services, L.P. (“CFS”), and are not insured deposits of the credit union.

What you'll do:

  • Interview members/clients to determine financial position, resources, and assets available to invest towards financial goals
  • Counsel clients on purchase or sale of securities, financial/insurance services and investment plans in or separate from a retirement plan
  • Service client inquiries by effectively working with operations support personnel at vendors and broker-dealer to ensure a high quality service and member satisfaction
  • Prospect for potential clients using advertising/marketing campaigns, seminars, mailing lists, personal contacts, referrals, center of influence, etc.
  • Refer members/clients who need credit union products and services to the correct department or person (for example: mortgage, consumer loan, credit card, deposit account, etc.)
  • Create, maintain, and retain client files with appropriate information and in accordance with FINRA and SIPC compliance standards, broker-dealer policy, and OSJ requirement
Position Requirements


What you'll need:

  • Three to five years of financial product sales experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Series 7, 63 and 65/66, Current State of New Mexico Life and Health Insurance License, Variable Insurance Products License and registration. Similar licenses from adjacent states (TX, AZ, UT, CO, OK) desired but not required.


Key Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent working knowledge of securities, life insurance, and annuity products
  • Proficient in operational procedures related to customer accounts
  • Strong practical understanding of general economic principles related to all aspects of personal finance
  • Above average math aptitude, excellent written and oral communication skills, excellent decision making and problem -solving skills, superior amount of computer literacy and proofreading capabilities and strong organizational skills
  • Must be able to handle multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, deal with sensitive information and handle problem resolution
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external customers appropriately via in person, email etc.
  • Experience in multi-tasking, meeting strict deadlines, dealing with sensitive information, and problem resolution while providing exceptional service
  • Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office and all internal systems as affiliated with the department. Ability to adapt quickly to change and proactively communicate
