Human Resources Manager 



The Human Resources Manager is responsible for professional management within several areas of Human Resources, including Employee Relations, HRIS, HR Compliance, and ensuring that the Company is following HR best practices.


Employee Relations

  • Assess and respond to personnel issues including Open Door issues, employee misconduct, harassment, and discrimination investigations.
  • Follow best practices to ensure that investigations and other issues are appropriately carried out and documented.
  • Drive improvement in the unemployment experience rating by managing the unemployment process in a timely, efficient manner; attend unemployment hearings when necessary.
  • Facilitate ADA interactive discussions, liaise with Payroll and Benefits regarding leaves of absence, and manage other similar HR matters impacting employees.
  • Be a champion for the Company's diversity, inclusion, and equal employment opportunity practices.


  • Support the development of the HRIS system including document management and retention.
  • Develop, streamline, and enhance staffing systems, tracking reporting, and analysis.
  • Facilitate compensation administration.
  • Direct and coordinate preparation of position descriptions to ensure FLSA classification compliance.
  • Help the Company maintain compliance with all applicable labor and employment laws and regulations and with its own HR and personnel policies.

Business Partnerships

  • Advise management regarding personnel practices, policies, and labor and employment law and compliance.
  • Advise management on solving problems and performance management challenges, disciplinary actions, terminations, and other similar matters.
  • Create and present HR training to the HR team, to management, and to employees; liaise with other HR team members to devise training curricula.
  • Assist in the trending of driver and non-driver turnover to provide suggestions to improve retention in both segments, reporting, retention, and resolution improvements.
  • Provide other human resource services as needed.


  • Manage a small team of HR and HRIS professionals, coach and train team members on HR best practices.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or like discipline.
  • Minimum of two years in an employee relations/human resources supervisory position and experience leading employee relations investigations.
  • Minimum of three years of employee relations/human resources experience with progressing responsibility.
  • Knowledge of employment laws, including ADA, FMLA, wage & hour, harassment, and EEO laws required.
  • SHRM or other advanced certification preferred.

  • Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office.

  • Ability to work in a team environment to continuously improve results.
  • Ability to promote a culture of trust and safety.
Position Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Skills.

  • Previous HR experience.
  • Office/clerical support experience.
  • Basic knowledge of DOT regulations.

This position will be required to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required:

  • manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard on a daily basis,
  • stamina to sit for extended periods of time, lift or carry printed materials, and
  • possess vision sufficient to read a monitor, printed text and hand written documents,
  • be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone.
