GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Groundskeeper will be responsible for all aspects of grounds maintenance and landscaping for The Classic Center. Groundskeeper will continuously maintain and improve all exterior areas around the buildings and facilities, ensuring that everything always looks its best. This position will report directly to Vice President of Engineering and Ancillary Services.

TYPICAL WORK ROUTINE INCLUDES, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  1. Clean interior and exterior areas of buildings on our campus on a daily basis, as well as performing additional seasonal cleaning tasks
  2. Possess necessary knowledge and skills to maintain and install landscaping materials, ornamental shrubs, seasonal flowers, or other landscape plantings including fertilizing, weeding, watering, spraying, mulching, pruning and/or removing limbs, trees and stumps
  3. Ensuring pathways, stairs, outdoor seating and other structures are safe
  4. Preparing outdoor areas for various weather conditions by weatherproofing, covering outdoor furniture with tarps, tying down unsecured items, etc
  5. Responsible for the safe handling, distributing and disposing of necessary insecticides, and or chemicals used necessary for landscape work and in conjunction with all policy related to MSDS sheets, osha regulations and local, state and federal laws.
  6. Maintains mowed areas as required
  7. Operates and maintains heavy equipment
  8. Operates and maintains a variety of landscape equipment
  9. Maintains an adequate inventory of the materials and supplies needed for grounds maintenance projects
  10. Pick up and remove trash and debris from the property and dispose of it appropriately on a daily basis
  11. Be knowledgeable about the daily events in the facility and assist with guest relations to help direct patrons to appropriate locations.
  12. Become familiar with the ACC ordinances which might affect tree cover, irrigation, power washing run off and other areas effecting the landscaping of the facility and ensure we are in compliance
  13. Be responsible for the power washing of all exterior areas to ensure that facility always looks its best
  14. Make recommendations for new plant materials and or bring forward ideas of how to enhance the curb appeal of the property
  15. Be knowledgeable about pricing and purchasing policy of the Classic Center Authority and be able to find the best products for the best pricing so as to be good stewards of the Classic Center funds
  16. Dress appropriate for the position but always maintain the uniform in a manner that is in keeping with our brand promise of having each guest leave with the feeling of being impressed
  17. Monitor the painting of the curb edging – notifying engineering when it needs repainting.  Monitor the signage around the facility to ensure it is current and identify any areas in need of repair.
  18. Assist guest who need help with bringing in packages and or equipment into the facility or call to get additional help when needed.
  19. Performs other duties as required
 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma or GED
  2. Ability to work independently
  3. Able to communicate effectively with staff and visitors to the facility
  4. Valid Driver’s License
