Human Resources Extern - Summer 2021 

Description

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is seeking a student interested in exploring a career in Human Resources for the motion picture industry. As an extern, you will be exposed to different facets of Human Resources, observing a wide variety of HR functions related to benefits, talent acquisition, employee relations, and special projects. You will have the opportunity to gain knowledge from and interact with HR professionals throughout the length of your externship.

This unpaid externship will take place virtually over the summer and has a flexible schedule.

 

Description:

  • Review strategies for communicating with staff relating to HR initiatives.
  • Explore content for staff on our internal communications platform, Workplace.
  • Analyze research, reports, and audits.
  • Observe planning, coordination, and execution of staff events and programs.
  • Shadow team members in completing tasks and projects in support of talent acquisition, benefits, employee relations, and other functional areas of Human Resources.
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
  • A desire and aptitude to work in Human Resources.
  • An inherent interest in the motion picture industry.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with regard to all HR information.
  • Must include a cover letter. 

 

The Academy’s Gold Rising program (formerly Academy Gold) is an 8-week internship enhancement program that incorporates learning opportunities for a nationwide pool of diverse talent. Externs will not be part of the Academy’s Gold Rising program formally but will have the opportunity to participate in some select programming such as select panels and Lunch & Learn sessions.
