We are seeking a Senior Combat Systems Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will:

  • Provide combat systems engineering support to technical support projects and ship repair availabilities under the auspices of Foreign Military Sales programs executed by Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA).
  • Assume responsibility for the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.
  • Provide technical support for Hull and Mechanical systems.
  • Recommend alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures .
  • Assist in writing technical documents and reports on shipboard Combat Systems.
  • Perform analysis, development, evaluation, and planning .
  • Review proposed ship configuration changes and provide recommendations.
  • Comply with applicable quality and security procedures in the performance of duties.
  • Provide recommendations to improve existing quality systems and applicable procedures and guidelines.
  • Participate in the development and review of ship repair specifications and Ship Alteration and Repair Packages (SARP) .
  • Provide subject matter expertise and input to integrated master ship repair schedules.
  • Advise logistics personnel on the specifications and performance requirements for ship repair material and parts as required.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and input to production / training / logistics schedules, condition reports, weekly SITREPs, material receipt/inspection reports, training reports, incident reports, and test reports.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and input to ensure adherence to local, state, federal and OSHA safety laws and policies.
 
Position Requirements

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Physical Science discipline from an accredited institution. 
  • Eight (8) years of increasing systems integration management responsibility is required, including at least five (5) years of specific naval combat systems installation, overhaul, and upgrade or integration experience related to ships and ship systems.
  • Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.
  • Foreign Military Sales experience is required. 
  • Experience working directly with foreign military and foreign government personnel is highly desired.
  • Experience with the various ex-USN/USCG ship classes and their associated systems currently in service in foreign navies, such as FFG-7, MHC-51, or WHEC is highly desired .
  • Experience supporting NAVSEA PMS 326, PMS 325, PMS 333, IWS 4, or IWS 11 highly desired.
  • Familiarity and experience with ITAR, FCPA, and other regulations, laws, and additional requirements associated with international work is desired.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • An active Secret security clearance.
