Email Opening Title Barback - Second City Theaters  Position Barback - Second City Theaters   Description Job Details Barbacks are responsible for keeping the bar clean at all times. They must be able to lift full kegs, restock beer, liquor, and wine. Barbacks assist bartenders in taking care of guests. The ideal candidate for this position must be available to work two of three weekend nights per week and should be flexible to adjust as needed. This is a fast paced, high volume position as theater guests will arrive and order within a small window of time. Special events happen regularly in the theaters, which may coincide with regular service. Only candidates that thrive in a busy environment should apply. Essential Functions: Clear plates and silverware for guests as needed or directed by manager or supervisor Answer questions about craft beer, food, allergies, and cocktails Assist the bartenders throughout the course of the guest experience and help in anyway necessary to ensure a positive guest experience Must have an understanding of different styles of beer Must take and pass a BASSET and FOOD HANDLER test High volume work experience is preferred Must be able to restock kegs and bottles Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, menus, computer, shelves and storage areas Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar Assist the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies   Other Functions: Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the manager or immediate supervisor Complying with health and food safety standards, restocking items, cleaning Operating the cash register, answering the phone, providing great customer service, and following Fifty/50 Restaurant Group policies & procedures   Physical Functions: Ability to stand/walk a minimum of 8 hours or as needed Must be able to exert well-paced and frequent mobility for periods of up to 8 hours or as needed Be able to lift up to 100 pounds frequently. Multi-level facility; must efficiently manage walking up/down stairs for up to 8 hours or as needed Will frequently reach, feel, bend, stoop, carry, finely manipulate and key in data. Work in both warm and cool environments High levels of noise from music, customer and employee traffic.   Position Requirements Qualifications, Education and Behavior At least 21 years old. Have a minimum of 6 months experience Ability to work quickly while maintaining safety standards and procedures. Ability to properly handle a knife, confidently. Active social media presence Ability to work Holidays, weekends, and late nights.
