Robotics Sewing Controls Engineer 

Description
  • Develop robot controls interfaces focusing on real time scanning devices and the advancement of that technology.
  • Troubleshoot robot sewing cell issues related to the robot, controlls, peripherals, and sew heads.
  • Assist in the implementation of other robotic sewing technologies in the Advanced Development Group
  • Perform project management activities that include project planning, managing project budget, and project timing. Interface with suppliers that offer scanning technology to better optimize the overall system.
  • Research new controls and sensors – Staying in tune with trends and advancements.
  • Attend seminars, expositions and related events to maintain a high level of industry awareness.
  • Support the process of technology transfer from the development group to the production team.
 
Position Requirements

Required

  • 5 years' experience with KUKA robot path programming and tuning.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface sensors into robotic applications.
  • Controls experience especially Allen Bradley controls.
  • Travel is required up to 20% both domestically and internationally to support the business, although this is an estimation and may increase or decrease depending on the needs of the business.

  • Demonstrated high level of problem solving skills using sound processes and methods.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and prioritize activities
  • Experience in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Strong mechanical and electronic aptitude.

 

Preferred

  • Experience with automated sewing systems in a production environment.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
 
Education Requirement Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline.
